RSS Feeds
The following RSS (Rich Site Summary) feeds/channels are available. We have provided both summary and full text versions. The full article text feeds are particularly useful for those who will be reading articles off-line (e.g. PDA or laptop use).

JavaScript-based Feed
Our JavaScript-based feed facility enables usability news headlines to be placed on your own web site. This can be utilised very easily by simply embedding just a few lines of code in your web page:
Simply copy and paste this bit of script into your page source (e.g. inside an HTML table cell to create a "news column") and you will "instantly" have the latest headlines appear. This will work with most browsers, as long as JavaScript is supported and enabled.
The key part is the URL reference to the UsabilityNews.com site along with some parameters. These parameters, which can be changed to suit your own needs, allow customisation of the results that are returned:
| Parameter |
Description |
Values |
| CAT |
Category of news to return |
1 general news (default) 2 jobs 3 events 4 paper calls |
| BRK |

All parameters are optional, and suitable defaults will be used as indicated, if not supplied.
You can see an example of its use at: http://www.visualize.uk.com, which will give you an idea of how it could look.
Pocket UN (for small screen and PDA use)
A cut down, mainly text-only, version of UN is available at: http://www.usabilitynews.com/pdahome.asp.
We have only done limited testing of this (originally rapidly developed for accessing UN at the HCI 2003 conference on the Pocket PC), however we have found it to work on a number of devices (including the Blazer browser on PalmOS) and have therefore made it publicly available.
Note that Pocket UN is for online browsing only - for offline reading we recommend you use the RSS feeds above with an appropriate news reader/aggregator.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Enjoy!
